I’d promised Matt of the Hairy Museum of Natural History some time ago that I would post some photos of the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum’s Aetosaur hindlimb and scute display (I think it’s a Typothorax, but I’m no expert). I should have posted them much earlier, but alas, my hectic schedule wouldn’t permit me to do so. So, without further ado, here they are:

This is the type specimen of Typothorax antiquum.
Thanks for the clarification! These were taken some time ago, so I’d forgotten the specimen’s identity (I spend nearly all of my time in the lab these days).

I’ve never heard them called that before…but it’s a cool nickname nonetheless. (Sounds a bit Ray Troll-esque)
Thanks for posting these, Mark! I remembered the display from when I was there in 2007 but somehow didn’t get any photos. And thanks, Bill, for confirming its identity. I thought that pelvis looked familiar.
