Happy Derived-Theropod Day!

26 11 2009

Good tidings and well-wishes!

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving: here’s to a glorious twenty-four hours of American football, cheesy televised parades, and beautiful, beautiful gluttony! I’ll be spending this particular holiday with Dr. Hungerbuehler and his wife, both of whom find my zeal for this time of year highly amusing (and later, I hope to cheer on my favorite perissodactyls).

An osteological view of everyone's favorite thanksgiving dish which appears to be engaged in some sort of folksy square dance.

Anyway, I encourage any of my biologically-inclined comrades who might be seeking a list of appropriate turkey day conversation starters to consult this post.

May the fossil record (and our modern holiday fodder) continue to enchant us all!

UPCOMING POST: Archeria, a bizarre serpentine Permian amphibian of the American mid-west.
